4G Internet connections soar in Colombia

Fourth generation connections to the Internet increased 275 percent between January and September 2014, totaling 808,762 subscriptions, the Information and Communications Technology Ministry said.

By the end of last September, broadband connections reached 9.7 million, a 342 percent increase over 2010, the ministry said in a statement.

"It is gratifying to see this growth curve of 4G mobile Internet connections over the first nine months of 2014 since that shows that Colombians increasingly demand high speed services," Information and Communications Technology Minister Diego Molano said.
