A glimmer of hope in San Pedro Sula

San Pedro Sula, the business capital of Honduras, famed for years as the world’s most violent city, is showing signs of improvement.

Despite continued insecurity and an excess of government red tape, the local chamber of commerce reports an increase in the creation of new businesses so far this year, mainly in call centers and the in-bond assembly plants, known as maquiladoras.
