Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Spain’s Acciona has announced plans to build a 49.5 megawatt wind farm in Costa Rica, following a tender from the state utility.

The company won a tender from the electricity company ICE to deliver the project. Acciona has a 20-year deal to sell electricity from the plant.

The project, which will be located at Chiripa in the municipality of Tilaran in the northwest of the country, will use Acciona’s 1.5 megawatt turbine.
