Acciona to build $45 million water plant for Costa Rica

Grupo Acciona, a Spanish conglomerate group dedicated to civil engineering, construction and infrastructure, won the tender for the construction of Costa Rica's largest water treatment plant, with an investment of $45 million.

The new plant, known as Los Tajos, will serve more than a million people, about 65 percent of the population of the capital city, San José.

The total investment for the project is expected to reach $290 million, and will reduce the country's wastewater from 20 to 0.1 percent.
