Accord with Europe still has a long way to go

The accord between the European Union and Central America cannot be ratified this year, said El Salvador’s economy minister said.

The minister said ratification is impossible this year, given the time it will take to translate all the documents from Europe’s many languages into Spanish.

In addition Europe wants Central America to form a customs union, which means another hurdle for ratification.
