Tuesday, February 1, 2011

With more than two years of delay and following $100 million of investment, the new Termopuerto power plant built by Corporación Zim of Guatemala at Acajutla in El Salvador is ready to come on stream.

The plant is expected to be fully operational with a capacity of 75.6 megawatts before June.

Initially, the first phase of the plant was due to come on stream by the end of 2008, with a second phase of an additional 30 megawatts by late 2009.
