Alaska Airlines offers Los Angeles-Costa Rica flights

Alaska Airlines began selling tickets on newly-announced routes between Los Angeles and Costa Rica's two major international airports.

The eight weekly flights are scheduled to begin Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, respectively, subject to approval by the Costa Rican civil aviation authorities.

To inaugurate the new service, Alaska is offering introductory one-way fares of $249 from Los Angeles to San Jose.
