Alfredo Pokus named as new Guatemalan Energy minister to replace Rodríguez

Alfredo Pokus was named as Guatemala’s new minister for Energy and Mines, to replace Romeo Rodríguez.

Pokus said he is prepared for questioning in Congress on claims of anomalies in tenders for oil concessions.

Before his appointment, Pokus was the deputy minister in charge of Hydrocarbons.
