Alliance to boost Nicaragua to 1.2 million tourists

Nicaragua hopes to receive 1.2 million tourists this year, helped by having joined this week the Latin American Tourism Alliance, known as ALAT.

With ALAT's help, the plan is to attract wealthy tourists from Europe and the United States with luxury yacht cruises.

Nicaragua is currently the Central American country with the least tourism revenue. However, thanks to joining ALAT, this year it hopes to attract some $400 million in earnings.
