Altair Nanotechnologies surges on $18 million contract for El Salvador system

Shares of Altair Nanotechnologies jumped in after-hours trading after it was awarded an $18 million contract to provide a 10-megawatt energy storage system for one of El Salvador's largest electric generation utilities.

The system represents Altairnano's largest installation for the electric grid market to-date.

The energy-storage systems manufacturer will provide a complete turn-key installation at the power station of Inversiones Energeticas.
