Aqueduct will launch Papagayo tourism boom in Costa Rica

The construction of six luxury hotels in the tourism enclave of Costa Rica's Papagayo Gulf are to be reactivated next month by the Las Trancas-Papagayo Bahía aqueduct.

As part of the plan, that aims to bring 5,300 hotel rooms to the are in the medium term, Marriott, Bulgari, Paradisus, Yu, The Point and Puntamar aim to add 1,500 rooms within two years at most.

Overall, the development will create investment of some $1 billion and the creation of 10,000 direct jobs for cooks, chambermaids, "buttons" and waiters, as well as management staff and supervisors.
