Argentine auto sector seeks Central America ties

Amid considerable uncertainty over the future of Brazil, the Argentine government and automobile companies are seeking contacts in Central America with the aim of increasing exports, not by a greater volume of sales but a wider range of markets.

Within the next fortnight, the Argentine chamber of automakers, Adefa, along with representatives in Argentina of Toyota, Volkswagen, Renault and Peugeot will be holding talks with importers in Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic

At present, Asian brands Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan and Honda account for more than half of all cars fold in Central America. Odebrecht leads in Panama Metro branch-line tender.
