As expectations grow for Starbucks arrival, Guatemala gets hang of coffee culture

Coffee consumption in Guatemala amounts to a modest 138 cups per person on average, but a growing number of consumers, including young people in particular, are promising a change.

Starbucks Coffee will be arriving soon, and that will be a big boost says the magazine Café Cultura.

Over the last five to 10 years, coffee shops have blossomed in Guatemala. Previously, there was not a single espresso machine in the country.
