Assembly plants in Honduras pull in $320 million

The maquiladoras -- in-bond assembly plants -- of Honduras aim to attract $320 million in foreign direct investment this year.
The new projects include a $50 million cotton-thread factory, a $20 million plant to build electric vehicles and a sportswear factory.
A new shoe factory will also be financed by foreign investment. Currently. the Honduran plants export $4.3 billion a year. Along with the new additions, the target for this year is $4.5 billion.
