Avianca and Taca fusion comes into effect

The fusion of Colombia's Avianca and El Salvador's Taca airlines has come into effect.

The joint operation will now be known simply as Avianca, Costa Rican newspaper La República reported.

Avianca will the first South American airline to use Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus 320, both of which will be in operation by the end of the year.
