Avianca launches regional service center

Monday, February 9, 2015

Avianca is building what it calls the most modern service hub in Latin American aviation, with specialized workshops for aircraft maintenance, repair and replacement of major components, and aviation training.

The facility, located at Medellín’s José María Córdova International Airport, will be able to provide simultaneous service to as many as four aircraft.

The development of the aeronautical center is an important step in the consolidation of the airline as a benchmark of quality in the region, the CEO of Avianca Holdings, Fabio Villegas, said last week.

Based in Bogotá, Avianca is Latin America’s second biggest airlines, after LATAM Airlines Group.

The company’s securities trade in the United States as NYSE:AVH and as Nasdaq:AVH.
