Azamara starts new Central America cruise route

Azamara Club Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean, has started to operate a new route for the Central American Pacific coast.

The new route, called Ruta Mesoamericana, will last 14 days, and will depart from Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, calling at Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and ending in Los Angeles, California.

For the current season, which started last October and ends in April this year, Costa Rican authorities are expecting some 122 cruises to arrive at Puntarenas and Puerto Caldera this season, 15 more than the previous season.
