Back to the future for Guatemala’s textile industry

Guatemala’s garment and textile industry generated 10,000 new jobs last year, in addition to 12 percent growth in exports.

According to industry leaders, the sector employed 59,000 people last year.

However, the industry falls well short of the 113,000 jobs it had in 2004, its high point in terms of hiring.
