Bancolombia points to modest economic growth for this year

In a departure from several international financial organizations predicting higher growth, Bancolombia this week issued a forecast that Colombian GDP will only increase by 2.5 percent in 2018.

While significantly higher than the 1.6 percent growth growth that the Medellín-based bank estimates Colombia experienced in 2017, this is below the 3 percent projected by the International Monetary Fund and the 2.9 percent forecast by the World Bank.
