Beleaguered El Salvador hits bond market

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

El Salvador took advantage of strong conditions Tuesday to bring its first international bond to market in more than two years, seeking to extend some short-term debt maturities.

The beleaguered sovereign, which launched a 12-year bond, has been on a downward ratings trajectory since it last tapped the dollar market in 2014.
