Belize sends ‘massive’ $95 million to Guatemala

Belize received US $74.6 million in remittances from the United States in 2015. Meanwhile, Guatemalan remittances to Belize amounted to less than a million dollars.

Astoundingly, however, remittances from Belize to Guatemala amounted to a whopping $95 million to Guatemala. Economists say that Guatemalans account for almost 11,600 of the 163,000 workforce of labor force of Belize.
