Billions in remittances flood into Central America

Remittances sent back home by Central America's emigrants rose sharply in the first half of the year.
As has been the case for years, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras sent billions of dollars during the period.
Central bank sources in all three countries said the increase was largely due to an improvement in the prospects of the US economy.
