Friday, February 1, 2013

The headquarters of Mexico's state-owned oil company Pemex was the scene of an explosion yesterday that killed 25 people and injured some 100.

The explosion came from the underground car park of Building B2, part of Pemex's administrative complex, although investigations are still being carried out to find out the cause, said Interior Minister, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong.

Some 3,500 people were evacuated from the surrounding buildings, and police closed nearby streets. President Enrique Peña Nieto arrived at the scene and asked for a thorough investigation.
