Bogotá airport

Monday, October 14, 2013

Colombia will build a new airport, next to Bogota’s El Dorado International, partly for private aviation, as well as for an Air Force base.

A light-rail service will connect the new facility to El Dorado.

Another project involves a plan to create new taxiways, which will reduce congestion.

Currently, aircraft need to cross main rainways, in order to move between the domestic and international terminals.

Terminal modernization is another part of the program, said Aerocivil director Santiago Castro.

More than 22 million passengers are expected to pass through El Dorado this year.
