Brazil’s Eletrobras to open Panama office as part of expansion in Central America

Monday, January 10, 2011

Brazilian state-run utility holding group and hydro generator Eletrobras will open an office in Panama as part of its internationalization process.

This will be Eletrobras' third international office. The group opened offices in Uruguay and Peru in 2010.

The group is currently building the 220-megawatt Tumarin hydropower project in Nicaragua and has said it is looking for other assets in the region.
