British companies eye Guatemala canal

The Guatemalan inter-oceanic canal has started to generate international interest.

Companies from the UK have shown their interest in investing in the project, said the British Ambassador to Guatemala, Sarah Dickinson.

The plan is also backed by the local authorities of the regions where the canal is planned to go through, as official data suggests it could create some 30,000 jobs.
