British firms eye Nicaragua canal project

British companies are interested in participating in Nicaragua's Inter-Oceanic canal project, said Chris Campbell, UK ambassador to the Central American country.

But the companies need more information regarding the financing of the project and environmental issues, he added.

In the last two years bilateral trade between both countries has grown 9 percent, the ambassador said.
