Bullets and blood in Mexico’s violent election campaign

Since September, 46 candidates in Sunday’s general and presidential elections in Mexico have been killed.
Six years ago, during the same process, only one candidate was killed.
There is more than one explanation for the bloodbath, but one is economic. As wages stagnate and prices rise, many people are literally dying for the posts as legislators that represent income of two or three times as much as counterparts in Europe.
