Tuesday, November 8, 2011

El Salvador’s business leaders called on the president, Mauricio Funes, to lower the tone of some of his aggressive remarks aimed at corporate chiefs.

In a weekend speech, Funes attacked leading business organizations for opposing his plans to raise taxes.

Business leader Jorge José Daboub said he was far from surprised by the Funes attack. “We’ve been telling people for two years now that the government’s going nowhere,” he said.
