Cable and Wireless Panama boosts data mobile usage with pre-paid pricing plans

Cable & Wireless Panama is seeing increasing data usage on its mobile network, but with a largely prepaid user base.

The mobile operator has introduced innovative pricing plans to encourage more customers to use mobile data. Prepaid subscribers make up 95 percent of the Panamanian cellular phone market.

Cable & Wireless has doubled its mobile capital spending this year compared to 2011. For this year, investment in mobile data is reckoned to be more than $100 million.
