Canada is running to avoid missing the Nafta bus

Canada's government is racing against time to join the new trade agreement between the United States and Mexico that is due to replace Nafta, of which Canada was the third member.

The Canadian negotiators have been in Washington since Tuesday, and Chrystia Freeland, the Trade minister has joined their talks.

Even in Washington are seen as vital to the trading interests of Canada, three quarters of whose exports go to the US.
