Canada - Mexico Alliance

Monday, February 13, 2017

Mexico and Canada might want to collaborate, if they are affected by United States import-substitution programs.

Montreal-based Bombardier, which already has a railcar operation in Mexico, could outsource aerospace operations.

Mining companies could have joint ventures to develop international projects.

As far as tourism is concerned, why go to the United States, where money is expensive, when both Mexico and Canada have cheap currencies?

Entertainment, sports and automotive are other sectors with potential for growth.

Canada and Mexico together produce goods and services worth nearly $3 trillion a year, behind only the United States, China, Germany and Japan.

In recent years, three quarters of the exports of each of Canada and Mexico went to the United States.
