Canada restores free trade in meat with Nicaragua

Friday, January 11, 2013

Canadian producers can export beef to Nicaragua, with full access, following restoration of the market that closed in 2003 due to mad cow disease.

And, for the first time ever, market access conditions have now been established for Canadian pork.

Access to the Nicaraguan market flows from the Canadian government's trade expansion goals in Central America and the result of its efforts to create new opportunities and science-based trade for Canadian producers, as well as growing prosperity in the Americas.
