Canada’s Harper defensive on new trade pact

Stephen Harper, the Canadian prime minister, took a defensive stance after inking a free-trade deal with Honduras, downplaying its shaky human rights record.\

While announcing the pact in Honduras on Friday, Harper accused opponents of the deal with being more concerned with protectionism than human rights. Standing before a crowd of reporters, Harper said the deal isn't just about ''finding our own commercial opportunities'' but about ''creating prosperity'' in Honduras.\
