Canada's Inmet stays confident in Panama copper

Canada's Inmet Mining announced third-quarter net income from continuing operations of $1.68 per share compared to $1.41 per share in the third quarter of last year.

The company also reaffirmed the ability of its Minera Panamá unit to develop Cobre Panamá.

It said: "In its recent disclosure relating to the offer to acquire all of the common shares of Petaquilla Minerals, Inmet has referred to the rights of Minera Panamá, the owner and developer of the Cobre Panamá copper project, to build infrastructure necessary for the development on state-owned lands."
