Canadian miners in Panama legal wrangle

Canada's Petaquilla Minerals announced it won a legal dispute against Inmet Mining, also Canadian, over mining rights in Panama.

Panama's Supreme Court rejected Inmet's arguments, after its subsidiary Minera Panamá had objected to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's permits to Petaquilla to explore and extract in the Donoso region.

Since the ministry's ruling was not subject to appeal, the court upheld the permits for Petaquilla.
