The Nicaraguan arm of Cargill expects to produce 170 million pounds of chicken meat this year.
The figure means a growth of between 4 and 5 percent, said the subsidiary's new general manager, Javier Brenes.
The production goal is supported by short-term investments, which include $6 million which have already been approved, he added.
