Central America aims for regional fiber optic network
A group of Central American countries have agreed to finish building and start operating an optical fiber network across the region.
Co-ordinated by the El Salvador government, the project, Autopista Mesoamericana de la Información, was discussed at the Central American Forum of Telecom Authorities, held last week in El Salvador. The information highway is based on the interconnected electrical system, which is already built from Panama to Guatemala.
