Central America boosts eco-tourism for Europeans

Central America is promoting ecological tourism as its main attraction in European markets. Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama launched a joint effort in the Berlin International Tourism Exchange., the world’s leading tourism fair.

The certificate of sustainable tourism “is good for the industry and it mitigates the impact of climate change in the environment and in people themselves,” said Allan Flores, Costa Rica’s deputy tourism minister.
