Central America prepares to negotiate free trade accord with South Korea in 2012

Central America will begin talks on a free trade accord with South Korea, according to El Salvador's trade ministry.

El Salvador's deputy trade minister, Mario Roger Hernández, said that an outline agreement is expected to be achieved in next year's first quarter.

So far El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Honduras have confirmed their interest in the project. Confirmations from Panama and Nicaragua are pending.
