Central America's wind-power generation grew 120 percent between 2009 and 2010, according to a new study published by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

All together, the region generated 237.2 GWh of wind energy during the timeframe. This came mostly from projects in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, the commission said, adding that Central America has attracted rising wind investments due to improving regulation for the technology.
