Central America seeks aid to recover from flood disaster

Central America’s presidents are to inform the international community about the region’s needs for reconstruction after the disaster caused by last October’s heavy rainfall.
More than 50 delegations from friendly countries and international organizations will take part in the meeting. The Central American countries will report on the losses they face.
The total amount of damages is about $2 billion, of which $900 million corresponds to El Salvador.
