Central America tackles gangs with joint force

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

A joint security force has begun operations to fight gangs and organised crime in Central America's Northern Triangle.

The force comprises police, military, intelligence, and border officials. They will monitor cross-border crime along 600km of the frontier shared by El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Increasing numbers of gang members commit crimes in one country and flee to another.
