Central American business leaders reject proposal for tax to fight regional crime
Creation of a tax to help improve security in Central America has been rejected by business leaders of the region.
“We Central Americans are aware of the tough economic realities that we face, and only we have the right to increase or create more taxes,” said the regional business grouping Fecamco.
The tax was proposed at the international conference on Central American security late last month in Guatemala.
