Central American exports grew 22 percent last year

Central America exported goods for $52 billion in 2011, a 22 percent increase compared to 2010, according to the Central American Economic Integration System.

Panama's exports grew almost 33 percent last year, while Costa Rica had the lowest growth rate with 10 percent.

Nicaragua reports a 30 percent increase in its exports, while Honduras and Guatemala report 26 and 27 percent. El Salvador's exports grew 18 percent.
