Central American melons highly rated by US importers. Hopes for end to lingering effects of listeria outbreak
US importers hope excellent melon quality from Central America can take the edge off lingering effects from a listeria outbreak linked to cantaloupes.

It remains to be seen, however, how much the listeria outbreak would affect demand for the Central American fruit. But so far, signs were positive.
