China and Costa Rica strengthen their economic bonds

China is Costa Rica's number two trading partner, with a trade volume of $2.44 billion in 2018, an increase of 6.7 percent over the previous year.

Opportunities for more growth are seen in trade, cyber-commerce, infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, technology and the arts. In 2007, Costa Rica became the first Central American country to establish relations with China, La República reports in Spanish.
