Thursday, July 17, 2014
The ties between China and Costa Rica are "like a growing elephant-ear tree of the Americas," Chinese President Xi Jinping said.
In a meeting with his Costa Rican counterpart Luis Guillermo Solis, Xi said that China is ready to work with Costa Rica in an effort to make the root of political mutual trust deeper, foster the bulk of mutually beneficial cooperation stronger and nurture the leaves of people-to-people communication blossoming.
On economic cooperation, Xi said the two countries could make good use of the China-Costa Rica free-trade agreement, improve the bilateral trading mix and strengthen cooperation on infrastructure, agriculture, science and technology and clean energy.
