China sole bidder for new Mexico train

A Chinese-led consortium is the sole bidder for the construction of a new Mexican train project, the Mexican government said.

The consortium is led Chinese firms China Railway Construction Corporation and CSR Corporation, and also includes Mexico's GIA, Prodomex, Teya and GHP Infraestructura Mexicana.

The train, which will connect Mexico City to the central city of Querétaro, will be 210 kilometers long and travel at a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour, with a capacity for 23,000 daily passengers.
