Climate change seen hitting Nicaragua's coffee

Climate change is expected to lower Nicaragua's coffee production by 5 percent this year, according to the country's national coffee council, Conacafé.

The Nicaraguan alliance of coffee growers said the country could lose $38.4 million in exports to climate change effects.

The figure is based on the international price of about $160 per quintal.
